The Mary Stuart Rogers Educational Services Gateway Building

California State University, Stanislaus.

We’d drive past this unusual bit of modern architecture every time we visited Torri’s grandmother in Turlock, CA.

I couldn’t resist getting a few shots using the *ist D with the Lensbaby attached.

Converted to black and white in Photoshop using NIK Silver Efex Pro 2 plug-in.

Night…

Night and day

… and day.

I passed by this sign at least twice a weekday, to-and-from work for 15 years, as I navigated the El Camino Real. Such a cool old sign.

I checked Google Maps Street View and it appears that as of November 2019, the sign was still standing, but the neon’s been removed. Too bad.

I’d heard that it was going to be taken down. If that happened, I hope someone save it.

I made a special trip at night to get a shot of the neon lit up.

Four shots.

Circa 2006.

F Heart K, Sabrina’s Fancy Shoes, Spring Clean, Hollow.

Four shots with my first DSLR, the Pentax *ist D.

These images are all from my second photoblog, circa 2006.

I chose this particular camera because at the time, it was smaller, lighter, and easier to hold than any of the other brands.

It still works. And it’s in really good condition. Really. It looks like new.

It’s a great little camera. And I still have a good selection of lenses for it.
